Christian Troger

Christian’s musical career began with rock and heavy metal on the bass and electrical guitar. Aged fifteen he developed an interest for the  acoustic finger style guitar, influenced by Peter Ratzenbeck. His friend and mentor Herman Kühebacher (Titlá), inspired Christian to engage in a variety of traditional music styles (Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, France), and to taking up other instruments such as the mandolin, the whistle and the pipes. In 2014 he finished his studies of Popular Music Education at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. During the last decade, Christian has been focusing on the traditional as well as contemporary instrumental music of Ireland and the surrounding regions. He has attended master classes with Ed Boyd, Brian Finnegan and Kevin Crawford. Christian is working as a music and guitar teacher and currently performs with Landor and various other folk projects.
