Ryan started playing drums in his early school days and discovered his fascination with the bodhrán during a Music Technology Master’s at the Cork School of Music in 2016.
Since then, he has been a regular player at sessions in Vienna and became a member of the band Paddy’s Return, which sets up the highly popular annual St. Patrick’s Night concert at the Orpheum every March.
More recently, he’s been attending workshops and classes with renowned Bodhrán tutors such as Kieran Leonard, Colm Phelan, Niamh Fennell, Jim Higgins, Brian Morrissey, Rolf Wagels, and Andy Kruspe, from all of whom he draws inspiration and brings valuable lessons into his own playing and teaching.
