Antonia first started her musical journey aged 3 when her mother signed her up for pre-school music classes. At 5 she was big enough to hold a Cello and went on to winning a number of first places at the „Jugend Musiziert NRW“ young classical musicians competitions in Germany. She developed an interest for Irish songs and music through her aunt Hedi who was living in London, and picked up a Tin Whistle at a Dubliners concert aged 11. When she returned from her first trip to Ireland and the 1992 Ballyshannon Folk Festival the following year, she had fallen in love with the Uilleann Pipes. She was lucky to find a local teacher and took classes with Tom Kannmacher for a couple of years. Aged fifteen she competed in the 1995 Flead Cheoil na hÉireann in Listowel as the only female and non-Irish participant in the category. Due to her thirty-odd years of experience with this rare and special instrument, Antonia is known as one of the driving forces of the Uilleann Pipes and Irish trad music in Austria. She was the first female to complete a Bachelor in Irish music at the University of Limerick, chosing the Uilleann Pipes as her main instrument. After achieving First Class Honours in the BA, she did her Masters degree for Irish Traditional Music Performance in 2016 .
Antonia is dedicated to support all learners of the Uilleann Pipes over here in Austria, so she invited Mickey Dunne and Batt O’Connor from Ireland in 2009 and organised the first „Trad Music Workshop“. From then on she has been a driving force behind the Workshop Weekend in Lockenhaus.
